| I got a call from a guy today who was in San Diego before going out to Africa on a deployment. Turns out he was having issues with his Z. Tony at GZ Performance told him about a guy who lived out here who might be able to help. All of a sudden, he was at my house and we were checking it out. It started off with a CEL. We ran codes and looked it over with Blazt. We determined it was his #5 cylinder. Based on the code 51, we pulled his injector connector. Everything tested fine on the multimeter so we scraped it a bit for corrosion and I tightened the connector a bit to make a better connection. Thankfully, his CEL went away and he thought he would be on his way to L.A. Fast forward about 6 hours and I get another call. He's stranded on the side of the road spewing coolant all over the road. He was only about 2 minutes from my house so he topped off and drove over. When he got here, you could tell he had problems. After some poking around, we thought the coolant was coming from his lower radiator hose. Turns out this wasn't the case at all. We had to tear into his Z some more and finally determined the cause to be a faulty water pump. He was gushing out the weep hole on the bottom. We'll be stopping at the dealership tomorrow and then getting it thrown back together so he can be on his way. The sad part is that he only bought the Z two days ago from Labree Motorsports. Not to blast them or anything though. The car was sitting for a year. Here are a few pics: The last time a Z was on jackstands in this garage, I was rebuilding my motor

I think somebody needs a coolant flush...
Done for the night. Time to finish tomorrow after the dealership opens.

I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM The unicorn gets its revenge... -- Scotts94z32 on September 19, 2006 at 11:12 AM CLICK FOR DETAILS ABOUT BUYING A ZAMA POSTER!!!!
